The Apt. B family might make my heart burst today. Ya’ll are just the best. The Apt. B Facebook page hit 1,000 likes today, and while that might be a drop in the bucket for some, it’s a cup overflowing for me. I’m feeling all the feels right now, so I warn you now that this is a sappy, from-the-heart kind of post. When I officially re-launched my business as Apt. B Photography back in August, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew where I wanted to push my business, but I couldn’t have even guessed what the second half of 2014 would have in store for me. From shooting Southbound Brewing Company’sfirst wedding reception to shooting a destination wedding in St. Augustine on New Year’s Eve, I couldn’t have asked for cooler opportunities or sweeter clients.

My favorite kind of wedding is the kind when you know, without a shadow of a doubt, that the couple is meant to be together. When the love is so evident, so tangible, that you can feel it not only between the couple, but between all their family and friends as well. It’s the kind of wedding when it doesn’t matter whether there are 15 mph winds or chilly temperatures, because you know the couple won’t even notice. The kind of wedding when the couple truly seems to soak in every single moment of love and happiness swirling around them. When you know that their wedding isn’t just an excuse for a party–it’s a day to commit their lives to one another, in the presence of all their favorite people. When it’s not just a day filled with beautiful dresses, lovely flowers, and gorgeous details…when it’s a day filled to the brim with love. This lovely day began with the girls getting ready at the gorgeous Philosophie Salon & Apothecary…

Laura + Michael are one of my favorite couples on the planet. I don’t think I’ve ever met two people more perfectly tailored for each other. They are incredibly similar and yet completely different. They challenge each other, they share common interests, and they just simply enjoy doing life together. Five years ago (!!) they trusted me to take their engagement photos, and now they are happily married and more madly in love than ever. No better reason in the world for a photo shoot than simply being madly in love. <3

There is nothing sweeter in the world than some just-after-sunrise light, a little boy with big blue eyes, and family that adores spending time together. My favorite photo shoots are the ones that feel more like play than work, and that was this shoot all the way. We ran, we laughed, we played…and we’ve got the photos to prove it. <3

I love when I know a couple outside of just being their photographer. It makes the whole experience that much more exciting for me! I’ve known Amanda and Mark for a few years now, and we were actually all co-workers at one point when I used to live in Gainesville, FL. I still remember when they were a brand new couple–that smile on Amanda’s face when she would talk about Mark was absolutely contagious. A lot has changed over the last few years, but one thing has remained exactly the same–that smile. The pictures below are proof. You would think these two fell in love yesterday! (#smitten) I adored capturing these sweet moments of love between Mark and Amanda, and what better place to shoot their engagement shoot than in the city where it all began–Gainesville, FL! Now I’m counting down the days until I get to ring in the New Year with them at their St. Augustine wedding. <3

Carlos and Emily had the honor of hosting the first ever wedding reception at Southbound Brewing Co.! If you are looking for an industrial reception venue in Savannah, Southbound is a fantastic, unique location. Your cocktail hour (or, craft beer hour!) can be held at the bar by the entrance, you can dance the night away next to the tanks, and you can even create your own personalized small batch keg to serve your guests. Carlos concocted the Fancy Firkin Wit, with pineapple, strawberry and Eldorado hops, and I won’t lie…I totally tried it, and it was totally amazing. But you’ve also got the other Southbound brews on tap (the Scattered Sun Belgian Wit is my personal fave!), and your guests get to take home their Southbound pint glass as a wedding favor. You even have the option of upgrading to a monogrammed glass!
