You + Me = Lunch Date?

Happy Monday, sweet friend!

Last week we talked about allowing yourself to take steps backwards in your business in order to strengthen yourself mentally, physically and emotionally for a giant leap forward. But taking time off from your business brings up some scary questions that you might also have if you are moving to a new city or venturing into a new business niche…and y’all, a few years ago I was actually was faced with ALL THREE of those business challenges at once.

  • In 2011, I took a year off from shooting entirely.
  • In 2013, I moved to Savannah and focused only on second-shooting weddings for the extra money and booking my own kid/family shoots on the weekends.
  • In 2014, I decided to completely rebrand my business and relaunch as a wedding photographer in my new city.

Woah. Helloooo changes!

The questions looming over me in the midst of all that went something like… “Will I ever find clients again? How will I book anyone with my outdated/irrelevant portfolio? How do I build a referral network from scratch?”

Take a deep breath, friend—I know just reading those questions can bring on anxiety. BUT, like anything else in your business journey, approaching each of those questions strategically can alleviate the panic and give you a solid map to follow to achieve tangible results.

And we are going to tackle these questions ONE. AT. A TIME. Because hi, it’s Monday afternoon—you might still only be half awake as you read this. 😉

But here’s what you need to know before we dig in—you and your business will be JUST FINE. Whether you are coming back from a period of rest, navigating a business location change or branching off into a new avenue in your business, you are going to navigate those changes gracefully, because I’m going to tell you how! I’ve been through the gauntlet already, and I’ve learned a million and one lessons along the way.

And because I believe strongly that a rising tide raises all ships, I’m going to share the good, the bad, and the ugly from my journey along with specific tips and tricks for you to try.

I have soooo much to share with you all, so I’m going to try a little something new and I hope you’ll join me as I experiment a bit. I’m going to continue sending Monday emails that tackle each of those questions, but I’m also going to host a few short Facebook Live chats to expand more on each of them!

So, over the next few weeks, here’s the plan:

Monday, Feb. 20: How the Heck to Find Clients
