Let’s be honest—even with our best intentions and hardest work, we all get a little behind on things sometimes. And one of those things for me this past year was the Apt. B blog. I had such good plans to blog consistently last year, and it just never happened. BUT, I don’t want you to miss out on my lovely 2015 weddings and shoots, and now that I’m consistently blogging again, I thought that it might be fun to do a #tbt series every Thursday! I’ll post weddings, engagement shoots and styled shoots that happened before the current wedding season so that we can all relive some of the lovely moments that have taken place in the last year. And first up in the series is Alex + Ricky’sOglethorpe Square ceremony and Soho South Cafe reception!

Alex + Ricky were more than just clients—in the months leading up to their wedding, we became friends. Soho South Cafe was our spot, and we’d meet there to talk wedding plans, eat grilled cheese and shrimp and grits, and laugh ourselves silly. These two are so perfectly matched, and I couldn’t get enough of watching how they interact with each other. The adoration in their eyes and the easy way they teased each other and giggled together always made our time together that more special. I was getting a glimpse of the love I would see on their wedding day, and y’all…let’s just say there were tears behind the camera that day. 

There isn’t anything I love more about my job than knowing I’ve just witnessed a truly special love story begin its marriage adventure, and that’s Alex + Ricky’s wedding in a nutshell: full of deep love, genuine laughter, serious promises and romantic moments that all work together to tell their love story. <3
