Some families just feel like old friends, and this one is definitely one of them. I’ve been photographing this sweet family since their firstborn was barely standing, and now—years later—they have three kids! Watching families grow and capturing their milestones over the years is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do, and this Tybee family photo shoot was extra special.

A Meaningful Location: McQueen’s Island Trail

For this session, we headed to McQueen’s Island Trail, a hidden gem just outside of Savannah near Fort Pulaski. This spot offers stunning marsh views, palm trees, and the perfect mix of coastal and Lowcountry scenery. But what made it even more meaningful? The parents had their engagement photos taken here years ago, before they ever met me. Now, with their three kids and two dogs in tow, they were back to capture this new chapter in their lives—a true full-circle moment.

A Special Family Tradition

This family used to call Savannah home but now lives in Atlanta. Even after moving away, they make a special trip back to Savannah for their photo sessions with me—something that means so much! It’s always an honor when families trust me year after year to capture their memories.

One of the perks of McQueen’s Island Trail is that it’s a dog-friendly location, making it a perfect choice for families who want to include their four-legged members. The dogs had a blast exploring the trail, and of course, they made an adorable addition to the photos.
