They lean in slightly and earnestly look me in the eye and say some version of – “We don’t know what to do in front of the camera and always feel super awkward. Can you help us??”

And my response every time?

“That’s 100% ok because it’s not YOUR job to know what to do in front of the camera – it’s MY job to direct you and make you feel comfortable. Your only job is to show up and be yourselves – I’ve got the rest covered.”
