I was the first person at Gallery Espresso this morning. I had my laptop open before 8am, sipping coffee and writing love notes to my clients. And before that I was walking through downtown Savannah, soaking up every bit of this gorgeous, crisp weather. 

And y’all…I got to enjoy all of that morning loveliness for one simple reason: because I love my job so much that I actually get up early to do it. 🙌🏻

You never ever would have caught me arriving early when I worked a corporate 9-5, because real talk: I SO didn’t love what I was doing. It wasn’t fulfilling, I wasn’t getting to be creative, and I was working blindly towards other people’s goals. But now every little bit of what I do each day (even the not-so-fun parts) matters–because it’s all working towards accomplishing my own goals. Towards fulfilling my own dreams. There’s no such thing as busy work, because ain’t nobody got time for that. 

I tell you all of this because if you are sitting in a cubicle reading this and wishing you could be anywhere but there, just know that you can be. I’m not here to tell you to jump and the net will appear. I’m here to tell you it’s not too late to start building your net.

With hard work, lots of planning, calculated risk-taking and a dose of dreaming, you CAN do exactly what you want to do with your life.
